On Monday, October 19, at 4:00 p.m., CMAK held the 2nd Construction VE·LCC Committee Meeting of 2026 in the Association’s conference room. The committee is chaired by Son Myung-seob, Vice President of Sanga Management Consulting Co., Ltd.

At the meeting, members reviewed a presentation on using AI in design value engineering (VE). They also discussed the committee’s future direction and preparations for the next “CM Issue Diagnosis by Sector” seminar.

Chairman Son gave the keynote presentation. He explained how AI can support design VE work and shared real-world application cases. He described how he tested AI’s review performance by giving it design drawings, and he stressed the importance of writing specific, detailed questions in prompts. He also showed examples of presentation materials created with ChatGPT and Claude, and noted that all AI-generated results must be verified.

Members discussed how to write specific questions for AI and why verifying AI outputs matters. They also talked about the potential for linking AI tools with real project data in the future.

Building on these discussions, the Construction VE·LCC Committee plans to share broader perspectives with industry stakeholders at the 18th “CM Issue Diagnosis by Sector” Seminar, scheduled for December.
